Welcome

Mission Statement

We are committed to protect the lives and property of the community through dedication to training, public education and emergency preparedness.

Welcome to the North Mankato Fire Department website.  Our fire department has been proudly protecting the City of North Mankato since 1903 and we give a lot of credit to all those brave souls that went before us.  They paved the way and made the personal sacrifices necessary for us to be as successful as we are today!

We are a 33 member paid-on-call department serving a community of just over 13,000 residents and numerous businesses as well as providing mutual aid, as needed, to our neighboring cities.  All of our firefighters are NFPA 1001 certified and a number of our members are also certified instructors for the firefighter training program at South Central College.

Our firefighters are proud of the services we provide for the citizens of North Mankato and are dedicated to making our community safer through pre-planning, fire prevention and public education programs.  Throughout the year, especially around Fire Prevention Week, fire department members visit the schools and many day care facilities in our community in an effort to spread the message of fire safety.  The number of fire calls we have each year has been steadily decreasing which indicates that our fire prevention and public education efforts are paying off.

If you have any fire department or fire safety related questions please leave a message for us at Fire Station #2 at 507-625-5378.  If you have an emergency situation dial 911 and we’ll respond as quickly and as safely as possible.

Take care & be safe!

Remember to change your batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors each time you adjust for daylight savings time
