Economic Development
The City of North Mankato is a proud partner of the Regional Economic Development Alliance (REDA).
REDA was formed in 2009, when a progressive group of communities and counties joined together with Greater Mankato Growth to efficiently provide both regional and individual city and county information to businesses interested in the Greater Mankato marketplace. REDA The Greater Mankato regional marketplace includes Blue Earth and Nicollet counties (the Mankato - North Mankato Metropolitan Statistical Area) and the communities immediately adjacent. Each of the community and counties in Greater Mankato has its own unique strengths, which together combine to create a robust portfolio of regional assets. Current REDA partners include the cities of Eagle Lake, Lake Crystal, Mankato, North Mankato and Saint Peter, along with Blue Earth County and Nicollet County.For more information about REDA please visit their website at http://www.greatermankato.com/regional-alliance
Policies
On December 15, 2013 the City Council adopted new economic development policies. The new policies are available below for those interested in applying. It would be in the best interest of the applicant to contact and speak to a staff member before submitting an application. Private Activity Revenue Bond (Conduit Debt) Policy
The City of North Mankato Port Authority is now offering private activity revenue bond (conduit debt) financing for projects in North Mankato or, with approvals from the North Mankato Port Authority and the jurisdiction where the facility will be located, other communities. The eligible projects include manufacturing/industrial facilities, multifamily housing, healthcare facilities, projects on behalf of 501(c)3 organizations, and other projects authorized by state and federal law.
