Projects

2023 Resurfacing Project:

This project will mill and pave an overlay on North Ridge Drive, James Drive, Oak Terrace Drive, Oak Terrace Court, the alley between Wall Street and Lyndale Street north of Wheeler Avenue, the alley between Holy Rosary School and Center Street north of Grant Avenue, the alley between Page Avenue and Wheeler Avenue west of Center Street, and the alley between Monroe Avenue and Tyler Avenue west of Lyndale Street.

Oak Terrace Drive will also have new underdrain installed in the road next to the curb and gutter, and Oak Terrace Drive and North Ridge Drive will have sump pump connections installed to provide any resident who would like one the ability to bury sump pump pipes and connect directly to the storm sewer system in the street. Any resident who wants a connection installed can email Public Works Director Luke Arnold at larnold@northmankato.com, or call 507-345-5570 and ask for one.

Work began on Monday, May 1 with removals for the underdrain on Oak Terrace Drive, and will be starting installation of sump pump connections on Oak Terrace Lane and North Ridge Drive over the early part of May. Work will progress to curb and gutter replacements and then paving on Oak Terrace Drive, Oak Terrace Court, North Ridge Drive and James Drive. Last will be paving on the alleys. Schedule updates will be provided here as they become available.

Lor Ray Drive and Howard Drive Roundabout:

This project will reconstruct the existing 4-way stop intersection to a single lane roundabout.  The project is scheduled to open bids on May 16, 2023, and work is expected to begin in early June after the state girls’ softball tournament is over.  Work should continue through the summer and into early fall.  This project will close the intersection for most of the summer, so residents and visitors should plan on using Lookout Drive to detour around the closure.  Caswell Park and softball entrances will remain open and can be accessed from the west.  Businesses east of Lor Ray Drive on Howard can be accessed either directly off Lor Ray Drive north or south of Howard Drive or by using Haughton Avenue to Howard Drive. Residents east of Lor Ray Drive should plan on using Countryside Drive / Carlson Drive from Lookout Drive.
