Career Opportunity- City of North Mankato Police Officer
The City of North Mankato is excited to announce it is filling an immediate police officer opening.
The City of North Mankato lies approximately 80 miles southwest of Minneapolis/St. Paul along the bluffs of the Minnesota River Valley. With a population of 14,200, North Mankato is neighbored to the east by the City of Mankato and is a key part of the region for retail trade, agriculture, medical care, manufacturing, and education.
The police department enjoys tremendous support from all aspects of the community, which is a direct reflection of the department’s commitment to service.
Minimum qualifications:
- MN POST Board licensed or eligible to be licensed at the time of application
- Valid driver’s License
Lateral entry qualifications:
- Six (6) or more years of current and continuous full-time peace officer experience in good standing.
- Demonstrated professional growth: continuing education, specialized training and/or experience, additional work assignments (e.g., FTO, CISM team, SRO, U/F instructor, etc.)
Pay Ranges:
Lateral hires with six or more years of service will be eligible to be hired at Senior Patrol ($86,496 annually-2023 rate) with contact negotiations underway for upcoming years. Lateral entry officers will also receive 45 hours of banked sick and vacation time to be used in accordance with city policy and collective bargaining contracts.
Lateral hires with less than six years' experience are eligible to be hired at Patrol Officer First Class ($82,440 annually-2023 rate) with contract negotiations underway for upcoming years. When an officer's total years of full-time law enforcement service equals 6 years, they will be eligible for Senior Patrol pay.
Those with no experience are eligible for pay range $74,436-$78,456
