To opt into our emergency texting system please text 56003 to 888777. You will receive texts in the case of a declaration of snow emergencies, weather emergencies, missing child alerts, and other declared emergencies.

In an effort to conserve resources and remove snow quickly and efficiently from City streets, the City of North Mankato may declare snow emergencies. City Code 71.06 allows for the declaration of a 24-hour snow emergency in the city. Notice of a declared snow emergency will be announced through the following channels:
- Notice to the local news media
- On the City website: www.northmankato.com
- On the City's social media channels
- Facebook: www.facebook.com/cityofnorthmankato
- Instagram: @northmankatomn

- Via the City's Nixle Alert System (direct text message, email, and phone call)

During a declared snow emergency, no motor vehicle shall be parked on any City street.
Vehicles parked on City streets during a snow emergency will be ticketed and towed. The cost will be $15.00 plus the price of the tow. If snow is forecasted, please move your vehicle to an off-street parking area. Temporary parking is available at no cost in all city owned parking lots and city parks parking lots. Parking is also allowed in yards until the end of the snow emergency.

- 231 Wheeler Avenue (Public lot behind the Circle Inn)
- 258 Belgrade Avenue (Public lot beside the American Legion)
- 410 Range Street (Public lot behind the American Legion)
- Nicollet Avenue Public Parking Lot (near Veterans Bridge)
- All Park parking lots (Spring Lake Park, Wheeler Park, Caswell Park, Caswell North, etc.)
