Checking Out Materials on the Bookmobile

Library Cards

Cards are issued free of charge. To apply for a card, you must complete a registration form and present valid identification.  Cards must be presented to check out materials.  Library cards are not transferable, and you are responsible for all materials borrowed with your card. Replacement charge is $1.00.

Loan Periods

Books, audiobooks, videos, and magazines check out for two weeks.

Renewals

You may renew your materials by bringing the material or your library card to the bookmobile and requesting a renewal.  Materials may be renewed by phone by calling 507-345-5120.  Please have the materials and your library card at hand when calling.  Materials will be renewed twice unless someone has requested the material.  You CANNOT renew ILLs.

Notices

Notices are sent out when books are six days overdue.

Returns

Materials may be returned to any Public Library in Southern Minnesota.  Please do not return Bookmobile materials to a school library.

Notification of Schedule Changes

Scheduled stops may be canceled due to bad weather or mechanical problems.

You will be notified by the phone number used on your stop application.

Who can request a stop?

The Bookmobile stops at licensed in home daycares, daycare centers, assisted living homes, nursing homes, and rural towns in Nicollet County that do not have their own library. If you would like to request a stop, please fill out a stop application and return it to the library. Stops must be located in North Mankato or greater Nicollet County.
