Title: Inkheart
Review: I thought that Inkheart was a great book. I decided to read it after watching the movie of it. It is about a girl named Meggie whose father can read characters out of books. After her mother is accidently read into a book, Maggie’s father, Mo, searches for the book to read her back out of it. As Mo searches for the book, he and Meggie get kidnapped by some evil characters that he read out of a book by accident. They are able to escape with the help of a nice character that Mo read out of a book, but then the bad characters kidnap Meggie again. This is a very exciting book. I liked the ending in the movie better, but I still recommend this book.

Title: Harry Potter Series
Review: I absolutely LOVED these 7 books! I have read them each over and over. The first book starts off with a young boy named Harry, who lives with his terrible aunt and uncle. Harry's whole life changes when a half-giant comes to tell him he is a wizard and he belongs to a wizard school,Hogwarts. Harry enters a magical world and meets two great friends, Ron and Hermione. Harry learns about an evil wizard that killed his parents and tried to kill him too when he was just a baby, but the curse backfired and took all of the wizard's (Voldemort) power away. Harry is shocked because, he had always thought his parents had died in a car crash. Harry, Ron, and Hermione learn that the school is guarding something mysterious and that one of the teachers is after it.... Will they save the mysterious treasure?....
In the second book, Harry gets a surprise visit from a house-elf who warns Harry if he goes back to Hogwarts he will be in great danger. Harry doesn't listen and goes back anyway. At Hogwarts, some kind of monster is turning students to stone and is said to be Slytherin's monster from the Chamber of Secrets. When Harry reveals he can speak to snakes (SLytherin's trait) people think he is releasing the monster. When someone close to Harry is turned to stone, Harry knows it must end....
In the third book, Harry is burdened by a murderor who has escaped prison and is after him. Then Harry finds out that the murderor was a friend of his parents and sold them to Voldemort. Harry meets a new teacher who was also a friend of his parents who teaches him how to fight dementors (creatures who suck the happiness from you). A surprise ending proves that everything is not as it always seems....
In the fourth book, Ron ivites Harry to the Quidditch World Cup (Wizard sport) which is spoiled by those charming Death Eaters (Voldemort's followers)! At Hogwarts, Harry is submited into a deadly challenge without his consent. He is faced with 3 life threatening tasks which he must complete in order to win the Triwizard CUp and eternal glory (oh and a load of money!!)But the final task doesn't go as planned...
In the fifth book,Harry and his friends create the DA (Dumbledore's Army) and rebel against Professor Umbridge and the Ministry of Magic. When Harry has a vision of someone he loves dying at the Ministry- he rushes there to save him, but he finds something else instead...
In the sixth book, Harry learns about love and hate. He learns about the horcrux (an object to conceal a piece of your soul:through murdering)and how Voldemort may have made seven. He also wonders if Ron and Hermione are falling in love and will he be the third wheel when he is with them? When someone Harry looks up to is killed by the man he hates the most he decides he will go hunt for Voldemort's horcruxes- along with Ron and Hermione.
In the seventh and final book, death comes early. Harry, Ron, and Hermione go into hiding. They must destroy ALL of the horcruxes before they can kill Voldemort-and before he kills them...

Review: This book is about a boy named Michael Arroyo who grows up in the Bronx in the shadows of Yankee Stadium. This book takes place as Michael is trying to pitch his little league team to the district finals for a shot at the Little League World Series with him as the all star pitcher throwing 80 mph. Only there is one problem when some of the coaches believe he is not the legal limit. He doesn’t have a birth certificate to prove he is, all he has is a baptism certificate, which they used to accept, but under the new rules, he needs an actual birth certificate, which is hard for him to get considering it’s in Cuba.
Besides the fact he and his brother Carlos are alone because there father died four months ago.
This book tells if he can ever get his birth certificate, how he deals being without his dad, and if he can still manage to get his team to Williamsport.

Title: get me out of here (my recovery from borderline personality disorder)
Review: This was an amazing book. It's about a woman who has had issues all her life (sleeping around, drugs, that sort of stuff) and how one day she has a breakdown, calls her pastor, and he tells her to admit herself to a psych ward, which she does. She finds an amazing psychiatrist, and learns to love herself & be happy with her life. It's awesome. It may be a little hard for some people to read, because it has some difficult/intense topics, and a lot of "big" words, but I recommend it for people who are interested in this type of stuff :) Enjoy!

Title: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Review: This book was BY FAR the best of all the Harry Potter books J. K. Rowling has written. It was always suspenseful, and the "fighting" was throughout the whole book, instead of at the end. I always thought of it as all the "regular" stuff was in the beginning, and then the "fighting" came at the end, but this one was different. Harry is trying to find all the Horcruxes so he can fulfill the prophecy and kill Lord Voldemort [Or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named :)] before Voldemort kills him. Escaping death narrowly countless times, at the end of the book Harry duels Lord Voldemort one last time... I strongly recommend the entire series! Great books, and a great way to "waste" time! :)

Title: The Martian Chronicles
Review: This book begins in the year 2030, when humans are beginning to travel to Mars. At first, the native Martians kill all the humans who come to their planet, but the Martians eventually become extinct after being infected with chicken pox. Soon many humans immigrate to Mars, hoping for a better life, ignoring the ruins of the magnificent Martian civilization while building new cities modeled and named after cities in America. I don’t want to give away too much of the plot, so you’ll have to read the book to find out what happens next.
I loved reading this book! Even though it was written around 1950, it seemed really new and original. Bradbury’s writing is very descriptive and filled with action, and it made me want to keep on reading to find out what happened next! My only complaint about this book is that so many characters, both humans and Martians, were killed. Except for that, I think that anyone who likes science fiction, fantasy, or adventure books would like reading The Martian Chronicles.

Title: And Then There Were None
Review: This novel is about ten people who receive mysterious invitations to a weeklong vacation on a secluded island. After they arrive, they discover that their host and hostess are nowhere to be found. The ten guests soon start to die suddenly, one at a time. The remaining guests all become suspicious of each other and desperately try to discover the murderer’s identity while trying to avoid becoming the next victim.
I honestly felt sometimes that I could not put this book down! I just had to find out how the mystery would be solved. The murderer was actually not any of the characters that I thought it would be! At first, it seemed that there were too many characters for me to keep track of, but after a few of them died, the story was easier to understand. I recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery, crime, or suspense.

Title: The Mysterious Island
Review: The Mysterious Island is about four men, a teenage boy, and a dog who are in a hot air balloon during a bad storm and land on an island. They work together to survive, and do some amazing things that I did not expect to be in a book about people surviving on an island. For example, one of the men is really smart and makes lots of things, even glass and explosives, from things he finds on the island. They also build a large boat. They also capture some animals and keep them to eat, ride, or to use their wool. Mysterious things keep happening that they cannot explain, and there is a very interesting explanation for the mysterious events in the end.
This is definitely one of the best books I have ever read! When I was done, I wanted it to be longer, because I didn’t want to have to stop reading it. I think most people would love to read this book and would greatly enjoy it.

Title: Don Quixote
Review: This book is about the adventures of the madman Don Quixote. He has spent much of his life reading books about knights, and he ends up believing that he is a knight, too. He convinces his neighbor Sancho Panza to become his squire, and they go looking for things to do. Don Quixote thinks a lot of strange things. For example, he thinks that windmills are giants and that a flock of sheep is an army. A lot of bad things happen to him – he ends up losing half an ear and about a third of his teeth, and he gets his hand tied to a window and is left hanging there. During the whole book, he talks about Dulcinea of Toboso, the lady he says he loves although he has actually never met her.
I did not like every part of this book, but overall it is an enjoyable book and most people would probably enjoy reading it.

This book really held my attention. I enjoyed the story very much, and I think that most other people would like it, too. The book is written in Gary Paulsen’s unique, vivid style and tells a moving story about the power of love.

Title: Treasure Island
Review: I have a mixed opinion about this book. I thought it had a really good plot, but I personally found Stevenson's writing style to be quite dull. Even though there were cannons, a ship full of pirates, and even a few swords, his writing did not excite me the way other authors can with much less. It is not the kind of book that makes you really care about the people and events. I would probably not recommend this book to anyone.
